Half a day, 3 to 4 hours
CHARACTERISTICS: 12 Km. of
"SINGLE TRACK" trail and a
technical descent
WAK´AS ROUTE
ITINERARY:
We take the bus to
PUKA PUKARA, visit
there briefly, then
take the trail
passing through dark
lovely forests to
the village of
Yuncapata. We rest
there briefly, then
go down on the
trail, enjoying a
gentle breeze and
natual scenery,
brooks and forests,
to the archeological
site of INKILTAMBO
(Inca prison). We
make a brief visit
here, then continue
the trail to get to
the pre-Inca
archeological site
of SALINERAS, a
lovely place located
in a small valley
with agricultural
terraces, fountains
and an "astronomical
observatory". Later
we will take a
gentle ascent in
order to go down the
road to the "lookout
point" of RUMIWASI,
finishing the tour
in the district of
San Sebastian, where
we will take
transportation to
the hotel.
